Our Space

We're very proud of our beautiful, spacious dance studio.  We have a huge dance floor, about 160 square metres, and we've taken a lot of care to make sure the speed of our floor is perfect for dancing.  There's a comfy lounge area where you can chat with friends (or strangers!) before or after your lesson.  We've done our best to make the whole studio a happy, well-appointed, welcoming place for our students, so we hope you'll like it so much that you'll want to stay around to sit and chat when you've finished dancing.

All that said, the space is still undeniably in a state of development.  We've only been open for one and a half years, and we'll be adding large and small improvements consistently.  With any luck, we'll keep having great ideas and getting great suggestions for improvements, so hopefully our studio space will be a work in progress for ever.

HOW TO FIND US

River City Ballroom is located at 4 Mollison Street in West End, just down the road from the Three Monkeys and the Gun Shop Cafe.

We're easy to get to, however you travel.

If you drive, there's plenty of street parking nearby (metered during standard business hours, free and more plentiful in the evenings).  Unless there's heavy traffic, we're less than a minute's drive from the Go-Between Bridge, only slightly further from the Grey Street (William Jolly) Bridge, and about five minutes from the Stanley Street or Vulture Street exits of the South-East Freeway.

If you use public transport, we are very well-served by the high-frequency CityGlider Bus Service, which links major transport hubs from the Bulimba-Teneriffe Ferry through Fortitude Valley, Central Station, King George Square / City Hall, Cultural Centre Bus Station / South Brisbane Train Station, to the St Lucia-West End Ferry.  The Mollison Street CityGlider stop is right outside Coles (and Three Monkeys and the Gun Shop Cafe and many other great spots to gather and eat), and it's less than two minutes' walk from our door.  A map and information for the CityGlider service is available here.

HOW TO SPOT US

We don't presently have signage on the faces of our building, but we're easy to spot - our building is painted red and white, and there's an A-frame sign on our footpath that says "Learn To Dance" in large letters.  If that's not enough, you can usually see through the big glass shopfront to people dancing inside.  Hopefully that will be enough of a clue!
